decide
무엇을 결정하는지에 따라 뒤에 to부정사, that절, whether절, on/against, 제한적인 명사 목적어가 옵니다.
특히 decide to do, decide that, decide on, decide against의 차이를 실제 문맥으로 구분해 봅니다.
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 결정하다 | 타동사 | decide that/whether, decide a matter | 의사결정 | We decided that the plan was too costly. |
| 결심하다 | 자동사적 용법 | decide to do | 행동 선택 | She decided to accept the offer. |
| 판결하다 | 타동사 | decide a case, decide in favor of | 법원·판정 | The judge decided the case. |
1. decide to do: 무엇을 하기로 결심하다
The manager decided to postpone the meeting.
The manager decided
postponingthe meeting.
The committee decided that the proposal needed revision.
We decided the deadline should remain unchanged.
We decided
that to extend the deadline.
- We decided on a local supplier.
- Have you decided on a venue for the seminar?
We decided
a supplier.
- The company decided against the merger.
- They decided against relocating the office.
They decided
not relocatingthe office. They decided not to relocate the office.
행동을 결심했다면 decide to do를 쓰고, 하지 않기로 했다면 decide not to do 또는 decide against doing을 씁니다.
- 할지 말지를 정했다면: decide whether to do
